Three Parkour things about which I would like to report:
1) children's canal: drive it!
First of all, the report from the Children's Channel. Nearly perfect, very satisfied with the preparatory work (was on all the conditions discussed), with the agreement before the shooting day (date, place, and participants choose), to design the day of shooting itself (drinks, unobtrusive and non-disruptive camera team) Wrap-up (OFF-text checked by me) and final version, all looks wonderful. A very large, and well deserved thanks to Inca Fries!
2) teacher training Duisburg
Last Wednesday I am from encapsulated the university of life and went to Duisburg to refer to, in cooperation with the regional sports development at a sports teacher education on Parkour. This request was sent to me personally as a continuation of a previous state project (2 hours in a sports school in Duisburg-Meiderich), because the then competent sports clerk recommended me to his colleagues and passed my contact has continued.
were according to an extensive preliminary language made all the preparations and the cooperation was nothing to prevent.
The day itself went off very satisfactorily, but it was because of the high number of participants (~ 25 physical education teachers) to some delays at the various teaching stations of the indoor track. The group of participants united in all age groups (approximately 20-65) and was varied by gender (approximately 50:50). Large, Small, Heavy, Light: Everything was there.
All teachers have my different, they found distressing tasks, and can certainly take a lot of Parkour. Among other things, I went to the aspect of sensory perception (Parkour view, course deal with closed eyes, touch, hear landings "etc.), explained basic features parkour-specific strength training and warm-up, and explained various philosophical issues (confronting personal fears, Hall vs. Street, Freedom of thought and escape, etc.) in a short package that should bring an insight into our movement form.
I have also made clear that all this can only serve as a small view of the large complex "Parkour" and if there really was to the needs of a teaching project, I am available for advice and guidance available. To this offer I was approached after the event one of the participants and will contact me to Parkour involvement in a project week at their school.
I'm still on it to get more resonance again.
3) Parkour Workshop, K. family
Yesterday (Saturday) I was now back in the Media Park, to first pursue my normal training. After much consideration and the "not-the-touch bottom" at a Aufzughäusschen modified the present training person and I accept the existing route through blind, single-arm variations, and were thus forced always new techniques (eg, wedging of the body between obstacle and ceiling, One-arm compensate for hand over hand, feeling the surface, exhausting the flexibility to lack of space to develop, etc.) around the constant Parkour immaginären to exist in emergency situations. Very sexy workout concept that I will certainly continue to pursue.
But the real main event of the day I was. In order to explain more precisely publish I am here just a short excerpt of the e-mail traffic:
Hi Dirk Meyer,
sometime in summer 2007, I met you once briefly. You are running with a few people on the Media Park and I was sitting on the edge, to keep an eye on my 11 year old son Thor, the mittrainierte for you. This passion for the course is survived him, and he stoned two, three friends from our village (Erftstadt-Lechenich) or we go in good weather even times to the Media Park
Since then, he wishes for a day with Parcour + instructor for himself and his friends. In 2007, I did not want to organize somehow. It failed tete then to the usual technical concerns of the schools (private use of a hall) and also the price of the coach (someone from the sports college)
Thorsten's father, his son gave them for themselves, and his friends, a 3-hour Parkour workshop in Media Park, with me as a coach. Tony's parents brought more food with in the form of cakes and various drinks, and I asked the 8 year olds 12-14 in the three hours, so anyone could take at the end of a beautiful muscle soreness the next day. Good idea of the Father, Thorsten has definitely got through the day, and the other guys came at their expense.
was the total Event a great success for all involved (eingschlossen me because the guys were amazingly talented). I have not think anyone can claim to be someone else paid for his birthday to be, or!?
Parkour standard so everything is in balance, my own training is not too short, and my coach grades I through coaching and media requests of this nature also expand. You learn, after all, never stop!
In four weeks before Christmas!
- Dirk
